FACILITY ENGINEER

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled, proactive, and hands-on Facility Engineer to oversee the safety, reliability, and efficient operation of our 7-storey commercial building located at Sungei Kadut Street 2. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing building infrastructure, ensuring regulatorycompliance, supervising facility staff and service providers, and maintaining a safe and conducive environment for tenants, visitors, and employees. He will also support the company's workplace safety, emergency preparedness, and CERT operations, ensuring compliance with applicable statutory requirements and business continuity objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and performance of the Building Management System (BMS), Mechanical Ventilation and Air Conditioning (MVAC), electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Plan, implement, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance programme to ensure the smooth operation of all building systems and facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Supervise and manage a team comprising 2 Facility Assistants and 1 Cleaner, ensuring high standards of maintenance, housekeeping, and service delivery.
  • Oversee outsourced security personnel and ensure compliance with building security and safety procedures.
  • Maintain and supervise the upkeep of landscape areas and fishpond to preserve environmental quality and aesthetics.
  • Coordinate and liaise with tenants, contractors, and service providers on facility-related matters, maintenance activities, and operational safety requirements.
  • Lead fire safety initiatives, conduct fire drills, and ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
  • Oversee smart building security systems, including access control systems, lift access management, and CCTV surveillance systems.
  • Monitor building utilities and energy consumption and recommend energy-saving and sustainability initiatives.
  • Investigate building defects, maintenance issues, incidents, and customer feedback, and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on maintenance activities, system performance, contractor performance, and incident investigations.
  • Manage building maintenance contracts, service agreements, and vendor performance evaluations.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Services, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in building operations, facilities management, or maintenance of commercial or industrial properties.
  • Strong knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS), MVAC systems, electrical installations, plumbing systems, and fire protection systems.
  • Certified CERT Site Incident Controller (SIC)
  • Certified Safety Officer (or equivalent Workplace Safety and Health qualification) will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in supervising maintenance teams, contractors, and service providers.
  • Familiarity with Singapore statutory requirements and building regulations.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve operational issues effectively.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with tenants, authorities, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking senior management, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently.
  • Candidates who can commence work on short notice will have an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of sustainability initiatives and energy management systems.
  • Experience with access control, CCTV, and smart building technologies.
