The FSO will oversee all security programs across the organization, including Defense Information System for Security (DISS) activities and other applicable systems, while maintaining compliance with federal contracts and regulatory requirements. This hands-on role is critical to safeguarding classified information, facilities, and personnel, as well as maintaining the organization's Facility Clearance Level (FCL).

The ideal candidate brings demonstrated experience supporting SCI-level and higher classified programs, personnel security matters, clearances, and secure facilities in accordance with IC and DCSA standards. Success in this role requires strong knowledge of NISPOM requirements, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to build effective partnerships with internal stakeholders and government representatives.

This is a hybrid position, requiring regular on-site presence two days per week at our McLean, Virginia office. An active Top Secret/SCI clearance, at a minimum, is required at the time of application.

The ideal candidates should have the following capabilities:

  • Serves as the appointed FSO for a cleared facility under DCSA oversight, ensuring compliance with DCSA, NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), federal regulations, and all contract security requirements
  • Maintains the Facility Clearance Level (FCL) in good standing, including NISS reporting, oversight of Key Management Personnel (KMP), coordination of facility changes, and interface with DCSA during audits
  • Acts as primary point of contact for DCSA, DoD, IC, and other federal agencies, PMs, and subcontractors
  • Manages all personnel security actions (DISS, NBIS), including clearances, investigations, visit requests, crossover processing, SF-86 support, security incidents and violations, and adverse information reporting
  • Oversees safeguarding, storage, and control of classified information and materials in accordance with federal requirements
  • Maintains accurate security documentation and records (personnel, visitor, and document control) using Access Commander and other required systems
  • Supports Insider Threat Program implementation and provides coordination with the Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO)
  • Prepares and reviews DD254s and ensures subcontractors and teammates are appropriately cleared, briefed, and compliant
  • Supports classified program execution and proposal support by coordinating with program managers, contracts, primes, clients, and IT/cybersecurity teams
  • Communicates security requirements and provides guidance to employees, subcontractors, and project teams
  • Administers security education, training, and awareness programs (initial, refresher, classification briefings, and debriefings)
  • Tracks and fulfills security requirements for new hires, terminations, and program support activities
  • Stays current on evolving security policies and directives; produces a monthly security newsletter; recommends process improvements to enhance compliance and efficiency
