Job Summary

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and hardworking Factory Store & Warehouse Assistant to manage the day-to-day activities of our Factory Store while also supporting our warehouse team when required.

The role’s primary responsibility is to provide customers with an excellent in-store experience, process sales accurately and ensure that the Factory Store is always clean, organised, fully stocked and professionally presented.

During quieter store periods or when operational support is required, the successful candidate will assist the warehouse team with receiving, stock control, order picking, packing and dispatch activities.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers but is also comfortable performing practical and physically active warehouse duties.

You will report to the Warehouse Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Factory Store

• Welcome and assist customers in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner.
• Help customers select the correct products, styles and sizes.
• Develop a good understanding of Versus Socks products and their features.
• Process sales, returns and exchanges accurately through the point-of-sale system.
• Complete daily opening, closing and cash-up procedures where applicable.
• Ensure all sales and stock movements are correctly recorded.
• Replenish shelves and displays from available warehouse stock.
• Ensure products are correctly priced, folded, displayed and merchandised.
• Maintain a clean, organised and customer-ready store.
• Monitor stock levels and report low-stock items or discrepancies.
• Assist with promotional activities and special Factory Store sales.
• Deal with customer questions or concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
• Assist with customer collections where applicable.
• Protect company stock, equipment and property from loss or damage.

Warehouse Assistance

• Assist with receiving, counting, inspecting and storing incoming stock.
• Assist with picking, checking, packing and dispatching customer orders.
• Ensure that the correct products, sizes and quantities are selected.
• Assist with stock transfers between the warehouse and Factory Store.
• Participate in routine stock checks and formal stocktakes.
• Record stock movements accurately and report discrepancies immediately.
• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries when required.
• Handle stock carefully to prevent damage, loss or incorrect allocation.
• Keep warehouse work areas clean, organised and safe.
• Assist the warehouse team with other reasonable operational duties when required.

General Responsibilities

• Follow all company policies, standard operating procedures and management instructions.
• Maintain high standards of customer service, accuracy and productivity.
• Comply with health and safety requirements at all times.
• Work cooperatively with the retail, warehouse and wider Versus Socks teams.
• Maintain reliable attendance, punctuality and professional conduct.
• Be flexible in supporting either the Factory Store or warehouse according to operational requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric or an equivalent qualification.
• Good verbal communication and customer-service skills.
• Basic computer literacy and the ability to learn a point-of-sale system.
• Good numerical skills and the ability to count stock accurately.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift, carry and move stock safely.
• Willingness to remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends or extended hours when operationally required.
• Reliable transport to and from Saxenburg Park.

Advantageous Experience

• Previous retail, customer-service or sales experience.
• Previous warehouse, stock-control or order-fulfilment experience.
• Experience using a point-of-sale or inventory-management system.
• A Code B driver’s licence.
