Fairview Enrichment Instructor

Position Summary

The Enrichment Instructor provides engaging, age-appropriate instruction to Scholars of H.O.P.E. participants in grades K–6 through specialized enrichment activities. Instructors create a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages scholars to develop new skills, explore their interests, build confidence, and engage in hands-on learning.

Enrichment instruction is based on program needs and instructor expertise.

Enrichment Instructors may be engaged to provide instruction in areas including:

  • Dance Fitness
  • Step
  • Creative Writing
  • Visual Arts
  • Theatre
  • Anime
  • Content Creation
  • Gaming
  • Cosmetology
  • Other specialized enrichment areas, based on program needs and instructor expertise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Omega Community Development Corporation (CDC) expects all Out of School Time staff to:

Essential Functions

  • Provide instruction in an assigned enrichment subject to scholars in grades K–6.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
  • Provide hands-on learning experiences that encourage participation, creativity, skill development, and collaboration.
  • Adapt instruction and activities to meet the needs and abilities of participating scholars.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Manage classroom or activity-area routines and promote appropriate scholar behavior.
  • Communicate effectively with program staff regarding scholar participation, progress, and program needs.
  • Maintain appropriate care, supervision, and safety of scholars throughout instructional activities.
  • Provide and/or use appropriate instructional materials and resources related to the assigned subject.
  • Perform other duties related to the enrichment program as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Demonstrated knowledge, skill, training, education, or experience in the assigned enrichment subject.
  • Experience working with children or youth, preferably in a school, after-school, community, or youth-development setting.
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate instructional activities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to pass required BCI/FBI background checks.

Compensation

Up to $45 per hour as a contracted position.

The instructor is responsible for providing or covering the cost of instructional materials and resources unless otherwise agreed upon with Omega CDC.

Days and Hours

Tuesday or Thursday from 3:00PM – 5:15PM based on the enrichment subject, program needs, and instructor availability. Specific days and hours will be established at the time of engagement.
