Location: Salem, MA. This is primarily an on-site role, with some flexibility to work remotely when appropriate, including after court appearances when working from home is more practical.
Note: This role requires an active Massachusetts Bar license in good standing, 3+ years of directly relevant family law experience, and experience practicing Massachusetts family law. Candidates should have substantive experience with divorce, child custody, paternity, and related family law matters and be comfortable appearing in Massachusetts Probate and Family Court.

Job Description
- Manage a full caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, paternity, and related probate matters.
- Meet with clients, understand their legal needs, and develop effective case strategies.
- Draft and argue motions, pleadings, discovery, and other litigation documents.
- Represent clients in hearings, pre-trial conferences, review hearings, and trials in Massachusetts Probate and Family Court.
- Prepare for and conduct depositions, including examining parties and witnesses.
- Negotiate with opposing counsel and advocate effectively for clients both inside and outside the courtroom.
- Review financial, custodial, and other case-related documents and identify important legal and factual issues.
- Independently manage deadlines, case files, and procedural requirements across an active caseload.
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to deliver responsive, high-quality client service.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Active Massachusetts Bar admission in good standing.
- 3+ years of directly relevant family law experience.
- Experience handling Massachusetts family law matters, particularly divorce and child custody.
- Strong courtroom advocacy, legal writing, negotiation, and client counseling skills.
- Experience with motions, hearings, pre-trial conferences, and litigation; deposition experience strongly preferred.
- Strong organization, judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters independently.
- Residence in Essex or Middlesex County, Massachusetts preferred.
