Family Support Specialist
Full Job Description
A TEAM Family Support Specialist builds meaningful relationships with families, including connecting them to resources, supporting them through challenges and assisting them to see and reach their full potential. FSS work with a fully integrated support team including educators, behavioral health staff, disability specialists, and health coordinators, all working together to best support vulnerable children and families.
What You’ll Do
- Build trusting, strengths-based relationships with families
- Develop individualized family partnership agreements and provide consistent, compassionate case management
- Connect families to community resources, healthcare providers, and social services that meet their unique needs
- Support families in crisis with a calm, resourceful, and non-judgmental presence
- Plan and participate actively in family events, parent committee meetings, and community outreach activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and case records in compliance with program requirements
- Work with families to value and understand the benefits of full family engagement and a 2-generational approach within an education setting
