Seasonal Custodian/Laundry Attendant, FLSA Non-Exempt

Seasonal Position November 16, 2026 to April 2027

Purpose

To assist with the cleaning and maintenance of the Family Triage in addition to occasional custodial duty at the main shelter at 586 Ella Grasso Blvd as needed. Perform laundry service functions 4 hours per day at 586 Ella Grasso Blvd.

Duties and Responsibilities

Clean and maintain grounds. Clean and maintain all interior spaces including kitchens, bathrooms, offices, dining areas, residential spaces and common areas. Remove trash on daily basis. Transport materials and supplies to Family Triage as directed. Remove, transport, wash and dry all bed linens etc. related to the overflow shelter services.

Minimum Job Requirements

Valid Driver’s License a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Must possess general physical ability commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position including the ability to lift up to 80 pounds. Must be punctual, reliable, trustworthy, hardworking and respectful to staff and clients. Must be able to follow directions and accept supervision.

Supervised by: Manager of Facilities

Salary: $19.00 per hour

Schedules:

Sunday- Wednesday 9am-1pm

Thursday- Saturday 9am- 1pm
