Pay & Schedule

• $28 per hour
• Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Weekly pay

About This Job

• You will lift, carry, and move logs and wood all day. Up to 80 lbs, repeatedly.
• You will run a chainsaw, log splitter, and shredder.
• You will operate heavy equipment: excavator, skid steer, forklift, and be responsible for it.
• You will work outside in heat, rain, mud, dust, and sun. There's no air conditioning out here.
• You will be on your feet the full shift.
• Safety gear is required, not optional. No exceptions.
• You're the lead, which means you work alongside the crew.

The job pays $28/hour because it's hard and because we need someone we can trust with equipment, customers, and people. If that sounds like you, we want to talk.

What You'll Own

Production & Delivery

• Lead and work alongside the crew to cut, split, stack, package, and load firewood and charcoal
• Execute the daily production and delivery schedule set by the Operations Manager so orders go out on time
• Perform pre-operation inspections; keep trucks, saws, and equipment fueled, serviced, and running
• Track production levels and call out supply, equipment, or staffing needs before they become problems

Property & Equipment

• Oversee stockpiles, roadways, vegetation control, land clearing, and crushing/shredding operations
• Keep the yard clean, organized, and safe every day, not just before an inspection
• Clean, inspect, secure, and store all tools and equipment at end of shift
• Run routine safety and facility inspections

Inventory Verification

• Perform physical counts on firewood, charcoal, reusable racks, equipment, and supplies
• Enter and reconcile counts in SOS Inventory (our ERP) accurately and on schedule
• Report low-stock levels to the Operations Manager so restock orders go out on time
• Flag damaged, missing, or unaccounted-for inventory immediately
• Follow inventory control, loss prevention, and tool security procedures

Team & Safety

• Train, coach, and develop your crew to hit performance standards
• Hold people to attendance, assignments, and productivity
• Run regular safety meetings and enforce safe work practices

What You Need

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving abstract
• 1+ year in a crew lead or leadership role
• Able to regularly lift and carry up to 80 lbs and work outdoors in all conditions
• Comfortable operating a chainsaw and heavy equipment, or willing to be trained and certified
• Strong work ethic, shows up on time, hits deadlines
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Basic computer/smartphone skills Google Sheets, daily reporting apps, and SOS Inventory (training provided)

Helps but not required: prior experience in firewood, logging, tree work, landscaping, farming, demo, or heavy civil.
