Farm Manager
Qualification
- At least three years of verifiable experience working on a large farm of at least 1000 acres.
- A background in Agronomy/Horticulture/ Large Farm Management
- Equipment Operation and maintenance knowledge (Combine Harvester, Planters, Sprayers, Tractors).
- A background in Sunflower and Soybeans farming and or other crops such as wheat, sesame, corn.
- Ability to do physical and labour-intensive work in all weather conditions for at least 8 hours.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds (22.7 kg).

Responsibilities
- The Farm Manager will be responsible to establish and run the farm, which intends to start growing Sunflowers and Soybeans production.
- Assist in educating, training, and supporting employees.
- Manage the daily activities of the farm from its establishment, managing small projects and daily agriculture activities on the farm.
- Responsible for organizing and managing the harvest.
- Assist in planting and growing all sunflowers and soybeans grown at Farm, including planting, weeding, and managing all flower crops.
- Provide support to the management by assisting in all sunflower and soybean farm efforts and generally be on the lookout for ways to help farm and support all staff.
- Provide Supervise, train, and support the sunflowers and soybeans crew.
- Effectively work with and maintain farm equipment, trucks, vans, tractors, gas tanks, shovels, weeders, fans, vents, thermostats, propane tanks, heat mats, wheelbarrows, grow lights etc.
- Manage staff schedules, staff payroll adjustments and problems, staff reviews and reporting of any disciplinary problems.
- Direct staff on tasks such as the seeding, propagation, cultivation, and harvesting of plants.
- Responsible for daily inspections of the farm and facilities to ensure the conditions are optimal for the plants and notifying the farm management of any disease, pests, livestock problems.
- May be needed to work in or on other areas of the larger company’s farm crops such as but not limited to – corn fields, sesame seed fields, and wheat fields in slow production months.
