FCC Escalations Officer
Summary
Reviews and escalates high-risk financial crime compliance cases, submits suspicious activity reports, and responds to regulatory authorities in a fintech payments environment.
The opportunity
Join our Compliance team in Greece as a Financial Crime Compliance Escalations Officer and play a key role within the second line of defense. You will manage high-risk customer reviews, assess internal escalations related to potentially suspicious activity, and help ensure compliance with Greek AML/CTF regulatory requirements. You will also respond to requests from competent authorities and third parties, including due diligence and compliance questionnaires, while supporting compliance awareness through guidance and training across the organization.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with 1–3 years of experience in financial crime compliance who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced fintech environment and is looking to grow their career with Worldline.
Day-to-day responsibilities

Act as the second line of defence escalation point for internal reports of potentially suspicious activity.

Support the accurate, complete, and timely submission of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in accordance with Greek AML/CTF regulatory requirements.

Respond to requests, inquiries, and follow-ups from Greek competent authorities, on AML/ CFT & Sanctions related matters.

Perform second line of defence reviews of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) files, including assessment of risk classification, documentation adequacy, and escalation decisions.

Provide guidance and challenge to first-line teams to ensure consistent application of AML/CTF standards.

Handle external third-party inquiries and compliance questionnaires, as required.
Who are we looking for

University degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

1–3 years of professional experience within financial crime compliance (any line of defense).

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a particular focus on Excel/spreadsheets (data analysis, reviews, and reporting), as well as Word and PowerPoint.

Professional certifications such as CAMS, ICA, CSS, or equivalent are considered a strong advantage.

Strong analytical, investigative, and critical-thinking skills, with a high level of attention to detail.

Fluency in Greek and English, both written and spoken.
