Job Title: Federal Telecommunications Engineer (RCDD)
Duration: 6-Month Contract to hire. Onsite 5 days/week
Locations: Overland Park, Denver, Co, Arlington, Va
Pay rate: $49-53.30/hr. DOE
Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification (required)
In this role, you will:
- Lead telecommunications and ICT design efforts and coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Develop conceptual and detailed system designs, including design drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical analyses.
- Coordinate with BIM/CAD teams to support drawing production and project deliverables.
- Perform quality control reviews and independent technical evaluations of engineering work products.
- Manage assigned project budgets, scopes, schedules, and deliverables.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineering and design staff.
- Conduct field investigations and site assessments as required.
- Prepare technical reports and assessment documentation.
- Assist in developing engineering standards, design guides, and templates.
- Support business development, proposal preparation, and project pursuit activities.
Due to the nature of projects supported, candidates must be U.S. Citizens.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, and BICSI standards, codes, and best practices related to Information and Communications Technology (ICT), low-voltage systems, and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of structured cabling systems, including safety, constructability, and installation requirements.
- Experience with Inside Plant (ISP) telecommunications infrastructure, including telecommunications rooms, pathways, copper cabling, fiber optic cabling, and connectivity systems.
- Experience designing Outside Plant (OSP) copper and fiber optic communication networks.
- Experience with audio-visual (AV) system design.
- Four (4) or more years of telecommunications, ICT, or low-voltage systems design experience.
