Federal Work-Study (FWS) Student Assistant

The College of Behavioral & Community Sciences Dean’s Office is seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-focused Federal Work-Study (FWS) Student Assistant to provide administrative and operational support in a professional office environment. This position plays an important role in maintaining daily office operations, assisting faculty, staff, and visitors, and supporting special projects across multiple departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Sorting and distributing mail, receiving and delivering packages, maintaining office equipment and supplies, running campus errands using a golf cart (training provided if needed).
  • Keeping shared workspaces clean and organized.
  • Additional duties include organizing supply areas, maintaining common spaces, supporting document shredding and recycling, and assisting with routine office upkeep.
  • Student assistants will also contribute to a variety of projects, such as preparing thank-you letters, organizing digital files, and assisting with communications, technology inventory, and other departmental initiatives as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Students must have been awarded Federal Work Study for the 2026 – 2027 school year and be available to work on campus.
  • Work schedules will be developed collaboratively with the supervisor and will vary based on student availability, and school schedules.
  • Reliable, professional, and willing to learn new skills, able to manage multiple tasks, communicates professionally, and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills, strong organizational abilities, and a willingness to assist with a variety of office responsibilities are essential.
