Field Application Engineer(FAE) / 應用工程師

【About Calyx】
Calyx is a precision-sensing company founded out of UC Berkeley in 2014. We build AI-enabled camera and sensor systems that turn real-time flock data into actionable decisions for the poultry industry — helping producers monitor animal welfare, optimize harvest scheduling, and capture measurable ROI. Our Taiwan Engineering Center in Taipei is where our hardware comes to life, and our systems run on farms across Asia and the Americas.

【About the Role】
We're looking for a Field Application Engineer (FAE) who thrives where engineering meets the real world. You'll be the technical bridge between our products and our customers — deploying, integrating, and troubleshooting intelligent sensing systems in live production environments, including poultry and swine farms. When a system you installed starts delivering insights a farm has never had before, that win is yours. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for someone who enjoys solving problems in the field, not just at a desk.

【What You'll Do】
・Install, configure, and test camera and sensor systems at customer sites, and see deployments through to stable operation
・Provide onsite and remote technical support to customers and internal teams
・Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues in field conditions
・Lead customer training sessions and live product demonstrations
・Drive system validation, pilot deployments, and proof-of-concept projects
・Channel customer feedback and field insights back to our engineering team to shape the product roadmap
・Produce field reports, deployment documentation, and improvement recommendations

【What We're Looking For】
・Bachelor's degree in Engineering (EE, CE, ME, CS) or a related technical field — or equivalent hands-on experience
・Strong troubleshooting instincts across hardware and networking
・Professional English proficiency (reading, writing, and spoken) for working with international teams and customers
・Clear communicator who can translate technical concepts for both engineers and farm operators
・Self-driven and adaptable — comfortable working independently on the road and in the field
・Comfortable working in agricultural environments, including poultry and swine farms (biosecurity protocols apply)
・Valid driver's license and willingness to travel ~20–30%, including international business trips

【Nice to Have】
・Hands-on experience with IP cameras, embedded systems, sensors, or industrial equipment
・Familiarity with cloud platforms, APIs, or edge computing
・Background in agriculture, robotics, IoT, or industrial automation
・Additional languages beyond English and Mandarin

【Why Join Us】
・Work on AI and sensing technology that creates visible, measurable impact in the real world
・Small, senior team with direct access to engineering and leadership — your field insights shape the product
・Cross-border exposure: collaborate with teams and customers across Taiwan, the US, and beyond
・Competitive compensation package
