Field Application Engineer —Sensor Integration

We are seeking a Field Application Engineer (FAE) to provide technical support for new customer opportunities and to support customers in integrating our sensor into their applications. The FAE will act as the technical liaison between customers, product engineering, sales, and product management to ensure successful integration, validation, and deployment of our sensor solutions. This is a hands‑on role combining customer-facing troubleshooting, application engineering, and support for pre‑sales activities.

What You Will Do
Technical Support for New Customer Opportunities
- Serve as the application SME for sales and product management in customer RFIs/RFQs, technical evaluations, and design-in activities.
- Function as the first-line sensor SME during early engineering discussions around new customer opportunities
- Conduct feasibility studies, define requirements for proof‑of‑concepts, hands‑on demos, and pilot integrations to accelerate design wins.
- Prepare technical proposals, application notes, integration guides, and cost/complexity assessments to support commercial offers.
- Work with marketing and engineering to develop demo configurations, evaluation kits, and technical collateral for new opportunities.
- Establish deep technical relationships at customers, positioning Molex as the preferred partner through demonstrated technical excellence and differentiated application support
Customer Integration Support
- Provide hands‑on technical support to customers integrating our sensor into their systems (mechanical mounting, electrical interfaces, signal conditioning, calibration, and environmental/EMC considerations).
- Provide technical support to customers with on-site integration and troubleshooting.
- Deliver integration specifications: mounting guides, wiring diagrams, calibration procedures, sample code, demo kits, and data‑logging configurations.
- Diagnose field issues, perform initial root‑cause analysis, propose containment, and follow through to resolution with internal teams (product engineering, test, manufacturing).
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- 3+ years hands‑on experience in field/application engineering, customer technical support, or sensor/system integration (or equivalent experience).
Practical experience with sensors (electrical characterization, mounting, calibration) and test equipment
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience performing root‑cause analysis.
- Excellent people skills, with the ability to quickly build rapport and credibility with customers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical concepts to engineering and non‑engineering stakeholders.
Willingness and ability to travel (frequently 25–50% depending on role).
