Field Application Engineering Manager

Salary: £60,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• Knowledge and experience of LCD displays (essential)
• Knowledge and experience of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and related hardware (essential)
• Knowledge and experience of developing and implementing BIOS/firmware and integrating application software
• Knowledge and experience of developing and implementing embedded system designs using x86 and ARM architectures, and related operating systems such as Linux, Windows 10 and Android
• Customer-centric mindset and comfort in an outward-facing role
• Ability to maintain knowledge of industry trends and resolve design issues
• Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills
• Experience with MS Project, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and project management tools
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Lead our engineering support function across our European customer base, supporting existing customers on standard and custom projects and providing engineering support to win new business and drive regional growth
• Delight existing customers through support and engineering innovations, including end-of-life management, new product development support and engineering-related customer relationship management, helping us re-win end-of-life business
• Respond quickly and thoroughly to RFQs and support our sales team in delivering competitive solutions across our product sets, excluding 3.0 IDS
• Provide pre-sales support to customers, prospects and sales team members by explaining products, conducting demonstrations for different applications and use cases, identifying problems and proposing solutions
• Develop and manage our growing FAE team, helping colleagues stay motivated and maintain high standards
• Manage projects, forecast resources and maintain engineering administration, serving as the single point of engineering contact for EMEA and maintaining supporting documentation
• Participate in technical meetings and prepare training programs for our sales team
• Collaborate with teams across functions and geographies to ensure customers receive high-quality engineering support and suitable technical solutions

We are seeking an experienced Field Application Engineering Manager – EMEA for a full-time, permanent role based in Crawley, with hybrid working three days per week. The salary is up to £75,000 base, plus bonus and benefits. Reporting to the VP, Technology & Customer Integration – EMEA & ROW, you will work within our global, complex, matrix organisation and serve as a key engineering contact for the wider business. The role spans customer and engineering activity across Broadcast, Medical, Industrial, Test & Measurement and Transportation, with a particular focus on developing HMI solutions for studio, TV and radio applications. You will combine customer support, pre-sales engineering, project management and team development.
