About the Role
This is the execution-focused half of a Forward Deployed Engineering function at an early-stage fintech company building digital identity and onboarding infrastructure. You are the technical bridge between customers and the product team, owning implementation success from day one and feeding real-world customer signals back into how the product evolves.
What You'll Do
Work directly with customers to scope requirements early and set implementations up for long-term success.
Act as the primary technical point of contact for integrations, onboarding, and product rollouts.
Troubleshoot integration issues in production environments and guide customers toward scalable solutions.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify and resolve friction in implementation flows.
Improve documentation, tooling, and internal processes to make future implementations faster and smoother.
What We're Looking For
4 to 5 or more years of relevant experience in field engineering, solutions engineering, technical implementation, or similar customer-facing technical roles.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting and resolving integration issues in production environments.
Proficiency with modern web stacks and APIs, including REST, webhooks, or event-driven architectures.
Production experience with Node.js, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
Comfort with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including data modeling for integrations.
Experience scoping technical requirements and designing implementation approaches collaboratively with customers.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including writing customer-facing documentation and API guides.
Domain expertise in KYB, KYC, AML, regulated onboarding, or a closely related compliance area is the strongest signal for this role.
A background as a Product Owner or Manager in fintech who ran onboarding or compliance workflows is also actively considered.
Familiarity with containerization tools, message queues, or cloud platforms is a plus.
