Salary Range: $98,600 - $144,800
Position Description
As a Mid-Level Field Engineer, you will lead and execute field engineering activities that ensure the readiness, integration, and operational performance of GARC systems deployed in fleet environments. This role involves advanced engineering support, troubleshooting, system validation, configuration control oversight, field testing, and technical documentation during sustained overseas deployments lasting 90–120 days, followed by approximately 30 days in CONUS before the next deployment cycle.
You will operate in industrial, austere, maritime, and on-water environments—often OCONUS—supporting system integration, technical operations, engineering evaluations, RDTE (Research, Development, Test, & Evaluation) events, and fleet exercises. OCONUS assignments may include remote or hazardous overseas locations requiring signed consent to deploy.
While not typically customer-facing, you may frequently coordinate with fleet operators, program engineers, and customer technical teams during deployments, system fielding events, and mission execution.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Field Engineering Support: Serve as a technical lead providing field engineering expertise to sustain GARC system readiness, operational availability, and mission effectiveness.
• Integration & Testing: Lead system integration events, validation activities, and performance assessments during harbor, shoreline, and on-water operations.
• Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Conduct detailed diagnostics, isolate system anomalies, and drive corrective action planning in coordination with engineering and operators.
• Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs): Implement, verify, and document ECPs, system upgrades, and hardware/software modifications while ensuring strict configuration control.
• Operational Deployment: Deploy globally (up to 75%) to support fleet operations, technical assistance, system fielding, demonstrations, and exercise events.
• Documentation & Reporting: Produce clear, actionable technical documentation, test logs, troubleshooting records, and field engineering reports for engineering, logistics, and operational stakeholders.
• Launch & Recovery Operations: Oversee safe, effective launch, recovery, and mission-execution operations in dynamic maritime environments.
• Configuration & Asset Management: Maintain and update system configuration baselines, asset tracking records, and engineering change documentation.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with engineering teams, operators, logistics, and manufacturing personnel to improve system reliability, maintainability, and fleet sustainment processes.
