Location: Field-Based — Candidates must be near Georgetown, DE; Sterling, VA; Baltimore, MD; or Washington, DC
Job Type: Direct Hire
Starting Pay: $32.00/hour (Higher pay available based on experience)

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Field Metals Installation Foreman to lead crews installing stairs, railings, and miscellaneous metalwork on active construction sites. This hands-on role oversees daily field operations, coordinates with the General Contractor, and ensures work is completed safely, accurately, and according to project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise field crews installing stairs, railings, and miscellaneous metals.
  • Coordinate daily installation activities with the General Contractor and other site personnel.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and ensure proper layout, measurements, and installation.
  • Organize crews, materials, tools, and equipment to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Verify employee certifications and enforce site-specific safety requirements.
  • Serve as the on-site safety lead and ensure proper PPE and safety procedures are followed.
  • Conduct and document toolbox talks/shop talks and reinforce safe work practices.
  • Complete daily field and vehicle inspection reports.
  • Monitor tools, equipment, and company service vehicles and report maintenance needs.
  • Ensure installation work meets project quality and safety expectations.
  • Act as the primary field representative for installation-related activities.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in miscellaneous metals preferred.
  • Previous foreman or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and safety documentation.
  • Strong math skills, including working with angles, degrees, and standard measurements.
  • Working knowledge of AWS D1.1.
  • Experience with welding processes including SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW.
  • Current welding certifications or the ability to successfully pass a weld test.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively on active construction sites.
