Field Operations Team Lead - Road Safety

Open 32d
This position is no longer accepting applications(closed Aug 19, 2026).

About us

Acusensus is an Australian technology success story, founded in 2018 and now operating across Australia, the US, the UK, and New Zealand. We've developed world-leading, intelligent road safety enforcement solutions, advanced AI and hardware technology deployed as fixed-location, trailer-based, and vehicle-based solutions to tackle a difficult societal problem: road fatalities and injuries caused by distracted and speeding drivers. Our purpose is changing behaviours and saving lives, and it shows up in how we work; we're collaborative, safety-first, and genuinely proud of the impact our technology has on communities. You'll be joining a team that includes some of the best people in the industry, many with backgrounds in emergency services and road safety.

About the role

You'll be responsible for leading our WA-based ETO field team and the end-to-end deployment of our enforcement trailer systems, making sure every deployment meets our standards for safety, compliance, and quality.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the ETO team across recruitment, development, performance management, training, rostering, and WHS compliance
  • Roster and coordinate the relocation and deployment of enforcement trailer systems, working closely with Help Desk and Project Engineers
  • Troubleshoot and carry out in-field maintenance and technical support on deployed systems
  • Mentor emerging leaders within the ETO team
  • Deliver training and accreditation for assigned programs, including the TS1 Speed Enforcement Program and the TruCAM II device
  • Represent Acusensus and enforcement operators at court appearances as required
  • Contribute to R&D testing and deployment initiatives

About you

You're a hands-on people leader who's just as comfortable managing a team as you are troubleshooting equipment in the field, and you genuinely care about road safety.

You'll bring:

  • A current driver's licence and an exceptionally good driving record
  • Access to a vehicle capable of towing the enforcement trailer
  • A current WHS White Card, and a willingness to undergo police, driving history, and other background checks
  • Ability to safely tow and reverse heavy trailers, with enough mechanical awareness to perform minor maintenance on a 2,000kg trailer
  • Strong communication, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • A High School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent

Bonus points for:

  • Experience leading teams with backgrounds in emergency services
  • Prior exposure to technical field operations or equipment deployment

A note on the practicalities: this is an outdoor, field-based role. You'll work in all weather conditions, travel domestically at times on short notice, and occasionally need to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends to meet deployment schedules.

Why join us?

Lead a team with real impact: You'll lead the WA field operations team deploying Acusensus's enforcement trailers — technology already changing driver behaviour and saving lives on Australian roads.

Own the field, end to end: From rostering and mentoring your team to troubleshooting deployed systems and representing Acusensus in court, this is a genuinely varied leadership role with real autonomy.

Become a specialist accredited trainer: You'll be trained and accredited to deliver the TS1 Speed Enforcement Program and TruCAM II training across Australia, a specialist skill set that sets you apart.
