Field Sales Specialist Manager

In this role, you'll lead a team of Field Sales Specialists, strengthen customer partnerships, influence business strategy, and help shape the future success of ECHO while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional excellence. The salary range for this position is $90,000-$100,000 based on experience and qualifications. This is a remote role that will require extensive travel, up to 75%.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Drive commercial prospecting, product demonstrations, and end-user engagement across the assigned territory through the Field Sales Specialist team, ensuring consistent sales growth and strong dealer pull-through.
- Cultivate regional and national account relationships by leading onsite product demonstrations, executive-level discussions, and long-term partnership strategies through the Field Sales Specialist team.
- Ensure merchandising excellence across Key Accounts, Regional Accounts, and dealer locations by maintaining brand consistency and impactful retail presentation standards.
- Provide ongoing coaching and development through regular joint dealer visits with Field Sales Specialists, delivering performance feedback and skill enhancement opportunities.
- Represent the organization at national and regional trade shows, dealer events, open houses, and customer appreciation activities to strengthen market presence and drive sales results.
- Deliver comprehensive training programs for dealers, regional and national accounts, and end users to build product expertise and reinforce consistent market messaging.
- Serve as a strategic voice in new product development, user group studies, and product feedback initiatives, partnering closely with Product Management to influence product roadmap decisions.
- Maintain advanced team knowledge of product portfolios and competitive offerings to support account strategy and informed business decisions.
- Develop and mentor Field Sales Specialists by providing leadership, direction, product expertise, and structured growth opportunities.
- Execute sales programs and marketing initiatives throughout the territory, driving alignment, adoption, and measurable business outcomes.
- Promote compliance with company programs, policies, and procedures while ensuring operational excellence and consistent field execution.
- Safeguard company assets by overseeing the proper use, maintenance, and accountability of vehicles, technology, tools, and equipment.
- Preserve organizational integrity by responsibly managing confidential information and maintaining the highest standards of discretion and professionalism.
Job Experience/Skills:
- Prior experience managing field sales, product demonstrations, or territory‑level commercial initiatives.
- Demonstrated mastery of company products, particularly outdoor power equipment (trimmers, chainsaws, backpack blowers, etc.), with the ability to guide team knowledge and customer adoption.
- Landscaping or related industry experience is highly preferred, with the ability to translate field insights into strategic sales and training direction.
- Proven leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, and developing team members.
- Ability to set performance expectations, conduct reviews, and manage accountability.
- Strong operational planning skills, including territory management and resource allocation.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, interpret KPIs, and make informed business decisions.
- Effective cross-functional communication with sales, service, marketing, and operations teams.
- Skilled in conflict resolution, problem solving, and managing escalations.
- Manage budgets, demo inventory, and operational expenses responsibly.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and reporting tools.
- Polished presentation skills and the ability to communicate with both dealers and executives.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and deep knowledge of outdoor power equipment.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary company information.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.
- Capable of meeting physical job demands, including lifting 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to change.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while leading a team.
- Sitting while driving for extended periods of time.
Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred or relevant work experience.
Travel: Up to 75% domestic travel required, including air and car travel.
