Field Service Controls Engineer

Position Summary

The Field Service Controls Engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of industrial automation and control systems for nVenia equipment and customer production lines. This position requires extensive travel to customer sites and serves as the primary technical resource for electrical controls, PLC programming, HMI systems, servo motion control, and machine integration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and industrial network issues.
• Modify, maintain, and optimize Allen-Bradley and other PLC programs (Horner, Mitsubishi, GE Fanuc, etc.)
• Support commissioning and startup of new equipment installations.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Diagnose electrical failures involving sensors, motors, relays, safety circuits, and control components.
• Travel to customer sites throughout North America and International for service calls, installations, and commissioning projects.
• Train customer maintenance and operations personnel on equipment functionality and controls systems.
• Complete detailed service reports documenting work performed, findings, and recommendations.
• Identify opportunities for upgrades, retrofits, preventive maintenance programs, and additional service offerings.
