Field Service Engineer

Summary

On-site engineer troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electronic equipment for customers, while tracking issues and recommending improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and evaluate equipment to be used in on-site troubleshooting and analysis
  • Review work order and related documentation to determine tasks to be performed in the troubleshooting assignment
  • Discuss assignment with internal technical representatives and customer’s representative to understand the nature of the problem and ensure that the product was properly assembled according to specifications
  • Assist with coordinating the installation of hardware as required
  • Test mechanical and electrical components, using the appropriate tools, and replace faulty components as necessary
  • Track and trend on-site problem detection and resolution
  • May train customer’s staff as required
  • Make technical recommendations on product improvement, reliability and troubleshooting techniques and tools based on product performance
  • Work closely with senior engineers on the resolution of the more complex and difficult problems in the field
  • Train lower level technicians
  • Monitor processes and assemblies for product Design for Manufacturability (DFM) issues and drive feedback through appropriate channels
  • All employees are responsible for the Quality of their work to ensure BEI meets, or exceeds Customer Satisfaction
  • Track and record all incoming shipment parts/modules and installation date
  • Work with customer and counterparts to ensure closure of SPDA parts

Requirements:

  • Nitec/ Higher Nitec in Engineering with 1 -2 years of relevant experience. Fresh Graduates are welcome to apply
  • Diploma in Engineering with few years of relevant experience will be considered for Engineer position
