FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER - SINGAPORE

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is one of the key players facing customers every day. How the FSE communicates and responds to our customers day to day directly impacts a customer’s satisfaction which a critical concern for Nikon SLM Solutions.

Responsibility/Job description;

• You will keep a systematic log of all machine status and provide timely service visits to all customers. You will co-ordinate with APAC CS team and HQ in Germany and ensure that service tools and parts are readily available, to avoid unnecessary delays at the customer’s end in returning their equipment to working condition following any service visits.

• You will collaborate and support our distributors in your region and support their service activities as well as enhance their technical knowledge to ensure good customer satisfaction.

• You will ensure that customer sites are ready for installation of any new machine and be responsible to assemble, align, install, and commission those machines, to ensure proper operation upon commissioning.

• You will provide on-site maintenance and training for customers as assigned by the Head of Service (HOS).

• You will attend, and schedule when required, meetings with customers to discuss installation or repair status and timing.

• You will be responsible for managing an inventory of commonly required spare parts for customers.

• You will ensure that general safety procedures (fire, electrical shock, powder handling etc.) are complied with by yourself and your teammates.

• You will, when required, operate Nikon SLM Solutions’ demonstration machine and other related facilities, adhering to all standard procedures.

• You will work with the HQ engineering team as required for troubleshooting which needs their support.


•You will be required to provide support for your designated region through regular local and international travel. From time to time, you may also be assigned by the HOS to support other regions within APAC.

• You will manage data in C4C and FSM to ensure it is maintained in an up to date manner.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Automation Technology, or equivalent experience.

• Practical, hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience with industrial equipment.

• Computer hardware/software set-up experience.

• Ability to read electrical schematics.

• Experience with 3D printing technology preferred, specifically, Metal Laser Powder Bed Fusion.

• Hands-on experience with automation systems in manufacturing plants.

• CAD software experience.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to travel internationally if requested.

• Ability to work independently and cope with pressure.
