Field Service Engineer (Semiconductor)

Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and technical Field Service Engineer (Entry-level) to support our growing front-end semiconductor equipment business in Singapore and the wider region. Based in Singapore, you will be responsible for ensuring high equipment uptime, executing preventive maintenance, and supporting installation and commissioning at customer fabrication sites (Fabs).
This is an entry-level position suitable for fresh graduates or junior engineers with 0–2 years of relevant engineering background. Intensive On-the-Job Training (OJT) will be provided under the guidance of senior engineers to help you develop deep technical expertise in advanced equipment control systems and semiconductor hardware.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Execution
· Maintenance& Repair: Provide quality repair and preventive maintenance (PM) services for company equipment at customer Fab sites. Assist in equipment installation or relocation, start-up, and check-out procedures under direct supervision.
· Component Replacement: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance. Order and replace defective components, units, or standard spare parts as appropriate.
· Troubleshooting& Diagnostics: Execute basic diagnostic procedures to isolate equipment issues, helping to minimise system downtime and operational interruptions.
· Issue Escalation: Determine preliminary corrective actions required and promptly escalate complex problems to senior engineers or supervisors for technical guidance and prompt resolution.
· On-the-JobTraining (OJT): Actively participate in OJT programs to assist with the installation, commissioning, and relocation of equipment at customer sites.
· Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date on company equipment, tools, and technical specifications through training programs, service manuals, factory bulletins, and technical periodicals.
· Task Execution: Execute project action items and technical assignments under direct supervision.
· General Duties: Perform other related technical support duties as assigned by senior Field Service Engineers or supervisors.
2. Client Engagement &Reporting
· Position Statement: Assist with the installation, commissioning, warranty, and maintenance of equipment purchased by regional clients to ensure smooth production operations.
· Work Reporting: Regularly submit clear work logs and service reports, providing feedback on common field issues to internal teams to drive continuous service improvement.
· Control Systems Support: Assist in supporting client site operations and maintaining equipment control systems.
· Client Relations: Provide basic technical consultation to client operators while maintaining professional, trust-based relationships with customer personnel.
Job Requirement
Qualifications &Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Industry Experience: Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. 0–2 years of hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, control systems, or cleanroom environments is an added advantage.
- Language: Proficiency in English and Chinese (spoken and written) is required to communicate and collaborate effectively with our diverse client base and stakeholders, as well as our regional counterparts.
