Field Service Tech

The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing mechanical service and dairy equipment install and repairs for all United Dairymen of Arizona producers.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Keep accurate and legible records.

  • Adhere to all UDA quality policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.

  • Adhere to all UDA safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.

  • Adhere to all UDA GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity

Qualifications:
General Skills & Abilities needed to complete job successfully:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Must be comfortable working with and around livestock.

  • Effective problem analysis and problem resolution skills.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.

  • PLC and process controllers helpful.

  • Mechanical experience with drives, pumps boilers, air compressors, etc.

  • Electrical experience 120, 240 & 480 volt systems.

  • Must have commercial Freon refrigeration systems experience.

  • Must be able to use technical manual and testing equipment.

  • Must be familiar with dairy product concepts, practices and procedures.

  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of a dairy.

  • Must be able to make decisions impacting products and safety based on independent judgment and discretion.

  • Must provide personal hand tools.

  • Must be able to work with minimal direction and to be self-motivated.

  • Requires ability to read, hear, speak, and comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions.

  • Shift work required, willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Experience: (required)

  • Minimum of 2 years in dairy maintenance or equivalent experience.

Education/Certifications (Required):

  • Must have High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Must have a clean driving record to drive a company vehicle

Work Environment & Demands

  • Physical and environmental demands for this position are indicated below:
  • Occasional bending, crouching, stooping, twisting, reaching and grasping
  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Some lifting, up to 150 pounds

Environment:

  • Able to work 12-hour shifts
