Field Service Technician | Robotics & Industrial Automation

Field Service Technician | Robotics & Industrial Automation
Denver, CO (Field-Based) | Full-Time | $40 to $60/hr. DOE + Overtime + Paid Training

About the Role
NOVA Automation builds advanced automation systems, including robotics, material handling, and packaging, for industrial clients across the U.S. and internationally. Service is a core part of our business. Our field service and parts teams support customers for the full life of their systems.

We're looking for a self-motivated technician who can solve problems creatively. You'll work with a high degree of autonomy in the field, backed by a small, tight-knit team, and your work will have a visible impact on our customers and the business. There's real room to grow in scope, pay, and influence over how our systems are built and supported.

What You'll Do
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, robot and PLC issues at customer sites.
  • Install, service, and perform preventive maintenance on robotic and automated systems.
  • Support customers on site and remotely through the full life of their equipment alongside our parts and service teams.
  • Share field feedback with engineering. You see real-world system performance most people never do, and we want your input.
  • Travel 50 to 75%, typically in weekly increments (out Monday, home by Friday).

Required
  • PLC troubleshooting and industrial robotics familiarity (Allen-Bradley or Siemens preferred).
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, comfortable diagnosing and repairing systems hands-on.
  • Creative problem-solving and the ability to learn new systems quickly on the job.
  • Professionalism and strong customer service skills in a customer-facing role.
  • Ability to travel 50 to 75% on a weekly rotation.
Preferred
  • PLC programming, not just troubleshooting.
  • Experience with specific robot OEMs (Fanuc, Kawasaki, Yaskawa, etc.).
  • Prior industrial or manufacturing field service experience.
  • Trade school certification or military technical background.

Compensation & Benefits
  • $40 to $60/hour based on experience. Placement reflects PLC and robotics depth, autonomy in the field, and how quickly you ramp up on our systems.
  • Overtime opportunities, plus paid training and certifications in robotics, PLCs, and automation systems.
  • Health, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, PTO.
  • Home every weekend. Company-paid travel and lodging, per diem.
  • Keep your own travel points and miles. Paid airport lounge access.
  • Relocation assistance available for out-of-state candidates.

Our Hiring Process
  1. Phone interview with the Service Manager.
  2. In-person interview with leadership and the technical team, including an in-depth technical conversation and an informal, hands-on discussion of your experience.
  3. Final interview with leadership, followed by an offer.
