Field Service Technician
Schedule: M-F 6:00 am-3:00 pm
Pay Rate: $30.00 per hr. + DOE
Location: Boise, ID (Local Candidates Only)

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with chemical distribution equipment in a fabrication shop and WGNSTAR facility environment.
- Support chemical distribution equipment builds, retrofits, repairs, and system upgrades.
- Perform fabrication, welding, controls wiring, and equipment assembly activities.
- Design, fabricate, and assemble PFA plumbing systems and components.
- Read and interpret design schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Partner with Design Engineers to ensure proper installation and documentation of plumbing and electrical systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve assembly, installation, and service efficiency and communicate recommendations to the design team.
- Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of components and subassemblies used in original equipment manufacturing (OEM) production.
- Work independently and collaboratively on plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, and controls installations.
- Install components and subassemblies into equipment cabinets according to specified configurations.
- Install and modify high-voltage and low-voltage electrical, controls, and wiring systems per customer specifications.
- Conduct quality assurance (QA) testing and verification of complete system functionality.
- Maintain compliance with safety policies, procedures, and shop best practices.
- Support a team-oriented work environment while ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Provide daily pass-down reports detailing installation and assembly progress.
- Redline and update schematics and documentation to reflect field and production changes.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues during assembly and installation.
- Ensure all completed work meets customer, engineering, and quality standards.
- Overall good mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Proficiently use basic hand tools for assembly work.
- Experience with SS and/or plastic materials.
- Strong spatial ability required to install components into the cabinet relative to each items function and size good understanding of high voltage and low voltage with the ability to interpret wire diagrams and schematics.
- Experience with thermocouples, small motors, resistance heaters, flowmeters and board level components is a plus.
- Previous electrical experience and or education required. Functional and clean plumbing skills.
- Requires the ability to interpret a fluid flow diagram to install or troubleshoot plumbing in the equipment.
- Experience with bending and swaging stainless steel tubing is a plus.
- The ability to operate and understand operations of PC and PLC based equipment (no programing).
- Good mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work with all types of hardware and fasteners Readily comprehend work instructions, mechanical drawings, fluid flow plans, and electrical schematics to complete assemblies and verify QA.
- Basic understanding of Windows, MS Word and MS Excel.
- 5+ years overall related experience
- 2 years’ experience working with Gas or Chemical Equipment
- 3 or more years in applicable work experience or Basic or Advanced Technical Certificate in related field.
- Associate of Science Degree in related field.
May be required to walk up to 5+miles per day, able to be on feet for 8-10 hrs at a time, able to bend, twist, push/pull, crouch, kneel in confined spaces, work at heights, on a ladder, and lift up to 50-75 pounds.
