Field Support Representative

The role:

You will be based in Poland as part of a multi-national MBDA Field Support Team undertaking activities such as (but not limited to) scheduled, preventative and corrective maintenance, replacement of major sub systems and other key components, performing upgrades to both hardware and software, providing advice to the end user, supporting trials, responding to technical queries etc.

The opportunity:

  • You will work as part of the Field Support Team for our Land based complex weapon system, providing support to the Customer at various locations as required within the scope of your Company Approval.
  • Respond to Technical Queries from the Customer in a reasonable and timely manner
  • Initiate and implement process and technology improvements to deliver continuous improvements in MBDA Quality and product availability.
  • Ensure all necessary tools and equipment are available for use or perform timely replacement and or calibration to ensure minimal disruption.
  • Assist other organisations with information and technical support regarding Company products during support, installation and commissioning activities, at the Customer’s location.
  • Be sensitive and appropriately responsive to the Customer’s local culture, behaviour and requirements.

What we're looking for from you:

  • An experienced Field Support engineer that once trained is able to play an active role supporting the MBDA Ground Based Air Defence (GBAD) in use with our Polish Customer to the highest quality, on time and on cost.
  • Able to achieve and maintain the required security clearances (UK SC Equivalent, SECRET/TAJNE).
  • Hold a current passport and full/clean driving license without restrictions.
  • Prior knowledge of, or experience within the Air Defence (GBAD) domain would be an advantage, however, training will be provided before deployment.
  • A background or working knowledge of Hydraulic systems would be an advantage.
  • A formal qualification at level 4 (equivalent to UK HNC/HND) in either mechanical or electrical engineering or at least 5 years working in a related field. (Graduates of the Technical School at Deblin are suitable), or relevant experience within industry.
  • An intermediate (B1 B2) level of English language skills, both written and spoken would be preferred along with an understanding of technical English terminology.
  • A background in Systems Engineering and working on digital systems would be beneficial.
  • Fluency
  • You need to be a practical ‘hands on’ engineer willing to work with the Missile System Designers, Polish Industry, and our Customers.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills as you will need to be able to work with a variety of different types of stakeholders while maintaining a willing, helpful attitude and a calm professional manner, even when things are changed at the last minute.
  • Possess Sound knowledge of Polish military structure, Polish MOD culture and engineering processes whilst keeping yourself up to date in the relevant technical areas.
  • Able to provide Support to Design, Trials or Individual Projects when required and liaise with product suppliers in support of Field Support activities.
  • Able to maintain personal and Technical reports and records of all Field Support activities, to a high standard.
  • Able and willing to travel throughout Poland and possibly the UK, often at short notice as required, managing your time and schedule accordingly.
  • Be physically capable to undertake all aspects of Field Support which will include working outdoors year-round, working at height and in confined spaces.
