Role Overview

The Field Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of NxaTel’s voice and data solutions at customer sites. This role ensures reliable network performance, high service quality, and professional on-site customer engagement. The technician works independently and as part of the technical team to deliver seamless connectivity solutions.


Key Responsibilities

Voice & Data Installations

  • Install, configure, and maintain NxaTel voice and data products at customer premises.

  • Deploy and support IP telephony solutions, including IP phones and VoIP systems.

  • Perform on-site testing, commissioning, and handover of services.

Networking & Infrastructure

  • Configure and troubleshoot routers and switches.

  • Implement and maintain LAN/WAN networking solutions.

  • Perform structured cabling installations and fault resolution.

  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, performance, and hardware issues.

MikroTik & Network Equipment

  • Configure and manage MikroTik routers (routing, firewall rules, NAT, VPNs).

  • Troubleshoot MikroTik-based network issues efficiently.

  • Maintain network security and best-practice configurations.

Maintenance & Support

  • Conduct preventative maintenance and routine service checks.

  • Respond to faults, outages, and support tickets within SLA requirements.

  • Escalate complex issues appropriately while providing clear technical feedback.

Customer & Team Interaction

  • Provide professional on-site support and explanations to customers.

  • Maintain accurate job notes, configurations, and installation documentation.

  • Work closely with internal technical and support teams.



Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

  • Drivers License
    Minimum 3 years’ experience in networking.

  • Strong experience with MikroTik devices and configurations.

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • Structured cabling

    • IP phones

    • Routers and switches

  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, and VoIP technologies.

  • Ability to troubleshoot independently and work in the field.

    N+ and A+


Nice to Have
  • Relevant networking certifications (e.g. MikroTik, Cisco, CompTIA).

  • Experience in ISP, VoIP, or telecom environments.

  • Valid driver’s licence.
