Film Acquisitions & International Sales Executive

LMW, on behalf of its client, a leading company in the Production & Entertainment industry, is seeking an experienced Film Acquisitions & International Sales Executive to join its team.

The successful candidate will play a key role across the film acquisition and distribution lifecycle, combining content evaluation, commercial analysis, theatrical distribution strategy and international market knowledge.

The role requires a commercially minded film professional who can evaluate acquisition opportunities, understand the economics behind film rights and distribution, monitor title performance, and translate market data into clear recommendations that support strategic decision-making and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Film Acquisitions & Content Evaluation

  • Evaluate film acquisition opportunities, assessing both the creative and commercial potential of content.
  • Analyze potential titles based on audience appeal, market positioning, competitive landscape and anticipated commercial performance.
  • Support acquisition decisions through commercial analysis and well-founded recommendations.
  • Monitor upcoming titles, international film markets, studios, sales agents and industry developments to identify new opportunities.

Theatrical Distribution & Release Strategy

  • Contribute to the development of theatrical release strategies for acquired titles.
  • Support release planning, positioning and competitive analysis.
  • Evaluate release timing, target audiences, comparable titles and market conditions to maximize the commercial potential of each film.
  • Monitor the competitive theatrical landscape and identify factors that may impact title performance.

Acquisition & Distribution Economics

  • Evaluate the commercial terms and financial viability of potential acquisitions.
  • Assess key parameters including rights, territories, licensing terms, Minimum Guarantees (MGs), P&A, distribution fees, recoupment, release windows, holdbacks and revenue-sharing structures.
  • Analyze potential costs and revenues to support commercially sound acquisition and distribution decisions.
  • Consider the long-term value of content across different exploitation windows and platforms.

Box Office & Commercial Performance

  • Monitor and analyze the performance of released titles, including admissions, gross box office, revenues, market share and opening performance.
  • Compare actual results against forecasts and comparable titles.
  • Identify performance trends and provide insights that can improve future acquisition and distribution decisions.
  • Monitor the performance of the overall film portfolio and highlight commercial opportunities and risks.

Market Intelligence & International Film Business

  • Maintain a strong understanding of the Greek and international film market, including distributors, studios, sales agents and emerging industry trends.
  • Monitor audience behavior, competitive releases and international market activity.
  • Identify relevant content and commercial opportunities across the international entertainment landscape.
  • Stay informed about developments affecting theatrical and subsequent distribution windows.

Reporting & Business Insights

  • Prepare regular analytical reports, forecasts and presentations for the Producer and Senior Management.
  • Translate box-office, market and commercial data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Provide recommendations regarding acquisitions, release strategy and portfolio performance.
  • Support management decision-making through accurate and commercially focused analysis.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience in film acquisitions, theatrical distribution, content distribution, film sales or a closely related entertainment-industry role.
  • Strong understanding of the full film distribution lifecycle, from acquisition and rights evaluation through theatrical release and subsequent exploitation across TVOD/EST, SVOD, Pay TV and Free TV.
  • Solid knowledge of film acquisition and distribution terminology and economics, including rights, territories, licensing, MGs, P&A, distribution fees, recoupment, release windows, holdbacks and revenue sharing.
  • Strong understanding of box-office reporting and analysis, including admissions, gross box office, market share, opening performance, comparable titles, forecasting and competitive performance.
  • Ability to assess the commercial potential of film content and translate market and performance data into clear business recommendations.
  • Strong knowledge of the Greek and international film industry, including key distributors, studios, sales agents, market trends and industry developments.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with strong commercial judgment and attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with excellent reporting and presentation capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Fluency in Greek and English, both written and spoken.
  • Genuine passion for cinema and the entertainment industry.
