Finance & Accounting Assistant

About the role

Samyang Foods SEA Pte. Ltd serves as the APAC Regional Headquarters, supporting business operations across Southeast Asia and Oceania. We are looking for a hands-on Finance & Accounting professional to manage daily accounting, tax compliance, payment processing and banking operations. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial closing and ensuring smooth finance operations as our regional business continues to grow.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily bookkeeping, journal entries and accounting transactions in SAP
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice verification, payment processing and account reconciliations
• Prepare and support local tax filings, including GST, corporate income tax and other applicable tax obligations
• Execute vendor payments, bank transfers and daily banking transactions
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate cash and bank records
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing and reporting
• Maintain proper accounting documentation and supporting records in compliance with company policies
• Assist with external audits, tax audits and related documentation
• Coordinate with internal departments, banks, external auditors and tax advisors
• Support other finance and accounting activities as required

Qualifications

• Approximately 5 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting
• Hands-on experience in bookkeeping, tax filings, payment processing and banking operations
• Practical experience using SAP or a similar ERP system; SAP experience is strongly preferred
• Good understanding of accounting principles and local tax regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data management
• Detail-oriented, organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good English communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
• Professional accounting or tax-related certifications (ACCA, CPA or equivalent) are an advantage
• Experience in a multinational company, FMCG, manufacturing or distribution environment is preferred.
