Financial Analyst (Manufacturing & Costing)

Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Financial Analyst to support cost management and financial performance across our manufacturing operations with experience of BOM.
The role will focus on manufacturing cost analysis, standard costing, budgeting, forecasting, inventory analysis, and management reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and R&D to improve cost visibility, strengthen financial controls, and support operational and commercial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse manufacturing costs across raw materials, labour, and production overheads to improve cost visibility, operational control, and product profitability.
Monitor actual costs against standard costs, budgets, and forecasts; investigate key variances and identify potential cost overruns.
Maintain product costing structures, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), labour rates, overhead allocations, and standard cost updates.
Partner with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to understand cost drivers and implement efficiency and cost-saving initiatives.
Support production budgeting, cost forecasting, and inventory analysis, including purchasing trends and inventory turnover.
Develop Power BI dashboards and management reports covering cost performance, production efficiency, inventory, and key operational variances.
Provide cost estimates and profitability analysis for new products in collaboration with R&D and other relevant stakeholders.
Support price and cost comparisons by reviewing supplier quotations, historical data, cost breakdowns, and standard cost references.
Requirements
At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in cost analysis, management accounting, manufacturing finance, or a similar role.
Good understanding of manufacturing costing, including standard costing, BOMs, material costs, labour costs, overhead allocation, and variance analysis.
Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, inventory analysis, and management reporting.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and operational data and translate findings into practical recommendations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI; experience with SAP or another ERP system would be advantageous.
Comfortable working cross-functionally with Finance, Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and R&D teams.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
