FINANCE AND LOGISTICS COORDINATOR

Position Purpose

A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that helps communities recover after disasters and gets children back in school. The position is full-time and is responsible for the logistics of the project(s) and managing the program finances. These include materials and tool procurement, creating and maintaining relations between All Hands and Hearts and local contractors and suppliers, and facilitating coordination of volunteer teams to and from work sites. This position is also responsible for ensuring payments are made in an appropriate time frame, and financial records are accurate. The position acts as a liaison between the field and office teams to maintain a smooth workflow and ensure sites are ready for work.


Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to Program Director/Project Manager and Operations Manager (shared responsibility)

Essential Functions

  • Work with the site teams and Project Manager to manage site logistics, procurement of construction supplies, tools, and materials and lead relationships with local suppliers and local workers/contractors.
  • In coordination with the project teams organize regular tool and material inventories and tool repairs for all worksites.
  • Maintain accurate tracking systems for purchased tools and materials for all sites.
  • Responsible for petty cash distribution, management and reconciliation.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly expense tracking and reporting the program budget, both on program and to off program finance team, and support in managing program budget.
  • Assist the Operations Manager, Project Manager and Program Director with budget tracking and cash-flow projections for the whole program.
  • Schedule vendor timely payments through petty cash or wire transfers as needed. Facilitate and manage payroll for local staff in compliance with local regulations and local partners.
  • Assist with the procurement of medical and base supplies when necessary.
  • Brainstorm and implement cost-saving initiatives on program.
  • Perform other duties as required.


Position Requirements

  • Education High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Related Experience 1+ years of experience working or volunteering for All Hands and Hearts, or another disaster relief organization. 1+ years managing logistics and/or working in a developing country and some financial experience in a professional or educational setting.
  • Special Competencies/Certifications Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to secure and maintain appropriate visas. Fluency in at least one language/dialect used in the region of the project is required. Good written and oral communication skills (in English) and confident working with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets and Microsoft Office.. The individual needs to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation:
    Typical starting salary is $850 - $1,038 USD / month, and up to $1,225 for highly qualified candidates who have previous experience in this role.
