The opportunity!
We’re looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Auckland Finance Team. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate looking to start their accounting career and gain hands on experience!
What you're there to do:
Manage accounts payable queries from the business, branches and suppliers, including freight and customs charges. Creation of purchase requisitions and orders for head office as required
Process supplier invoices, purchase requisitions and purchase orders accurately and on time
Reconcile supplier statements, invoices, bank transactions and business credit cards
Assist with month-end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations
Assist with month end reporting
Work with the Financial Accountant to prepare reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
Daily reconciliation of the bank statement and clearing of non- customer receipt transactions in SAP
Business credit card reconciliation and processing
Assist with FBT, GST Returns and prepare weekly/monthly payment runs
Assist in the preparation and management of the daily cash forecast
Provide general finance support and assist with other duties as required
Skills & experience you'll bring:
Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role
Experience with SAP is preferred
Strong Excel skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively within a team
