Salary: No

  • Help shape future finance processes within a major technology transformation
  • Work across requirements, process improvement, data migration and testing
  • Bring your stakeholder engagement and business analysis expertise to a Queensland Government environment
Aspirante is seeking an experienced Finance Business Analyst to support a Queensland Government client as it modernises its business systems and financial processes.

Working closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams and service providers, you will refine requirements, define future-state processes and support the implementation of a foundational finance solution. Your work will span accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets and taxation, helping deliver more efficient and customer-focused ways of working.

About the role
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading stakeholder engagement and workshops to identify, validate and prioritise complex business requirements.
  • Defining and documenting future-state business processes, including BPMN models, workflows, business rules and use cases for asset maintenance and capital works.
  • Conducting gap analyses and providing practical recommendations to address risks and improve processes.
  • Using AI tools to assist requirements and process analysis, with appropriate human review and governance controls.
  • Working with delivery teams and service providers to ensure the finance solution meets business needs.
  • Overseeing data migration, cleansing and validation activities.
  • Developing testing strategies, test cases and supporting documentation, and assisting subject matter experts through user acceptance testing.
  • Contributing to training materials and user documentation to support adoption.
  • Providing business analysis guidance, mentoring team members and supporting continuous improvement.
About you
You will bring extensive business analysis experience across complex ICT transformation programs, supported by strong analytical skills and the ability to turn business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
Your experience will include:
  • Eliciting requirements and developing BPMN process models, use cases and future-state business processes.
  • Assessing gaps between current and future systems and recommending practical improvements.
  • Facilitating workshops and building productive relationships with business stakeholders and service providers.
  • Supporting the full project lifecycle, including data migration, data interfaces, testing and implementation.
  • Working in Agile environments, including sprint planning, showcases and retrospectives.
  • Managing competing priorities and working independently in complex delivery environments.
Experience with finance business processes, asset management and capital works will be highly regarded, alongside government or public sector experience, cross-agency delivery and familiarity with Queensland Government methodologies and frameworks.

You will be a clear communicator who brings sound judgement, attention to detail and a collaborative approach. You will be comfortable navigating ambiguity, working with stakeholders at all levels and helping team members deliver strong outcomes.
