Finance & Business Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Finance & Business Analyst based in India.

This is a fully remote, full-time freelance opportunity for an analytical professional who enjoys turning financial and business data into actionable insights. You will work across financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, business performance, and strategic planning. The role offers broad exposure to revenue, profitability, expenses, cash flow, KPIs, pricing, occupancy, and operational performance. You will collaborate with Finance, Operations, Revenue Management, Marketing, and senior leadership to support data-driven decisions. A strong focus is placed on leveraging AI and automation tools to improve reporting, analysis, and everyday workflows. • Prepare accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports covering revenue, profitability, expenses, cash flow, and overall financial performance.
• Monitor KPIs across multiple business units and conduct budget-versus-actual variance analysis.
• Build financial models, forecasts, budgets, and analytical tools to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Analyze business performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability, reduce costs, increase revenue, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Develop executive dashboards and management reports that provide clear visibility into business performance.
• Evaluate pricing, occupancy, booking channels, customer segments, and operational metrics to identify trends and opportunities.
• Conduct market and competitor research and translate findings into practical recommendations for senior management.
• Use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot to improve productivity and automate repetitive analytical and reporting tasks.
• Research emerging AI and automation tools and recommend relevant applications that can improve business processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Revenue Management, Marketing, and Executive Leadership.
• Support special projects, business cases, strategic initiatives, and other analytical priorities.
• Ensure financial data is accurate, consistent, and reliable across reports and business dashboards.
• Within the first 90 days, establish reliable executive reporting, develop meaningful performance dashboards, identify cost-saving and revenue-growth opportunities, and automate recurring reporting tasks where appropriate.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Business Analysis, or a closely related analytical function.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear business recommendations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Professional-level written and spoken English.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when working with financial and business data.
• Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
• Practical experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Microsoft Copilot to improve productivity and workflows.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio is preferred.
• Basic SQL knowledge is an advantage.
• Experience in hospitality, real estate, SaaS, technology, or another data-driven industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with ERP or accounting software and experience with automation tools are advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
