Finance / Commercial Project Manager
Endeavour has an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about sustainability and eager to be part of an innovative company that’s on a journey to transform the world’s infrastructure.
We are seeking a Finance / Commercial Project Manager to join the Edged Infrastructure team, working directly with the Chief Financial Officer, and focusing on our data center infrastructure projects—from bid and contract through construction, billing, and closeout.
This role is part of the support team that services the entire our Endeavour ecosystem and contributes to the overall health and success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:
Project Finance & Controlling
- Own the full financial lifecycle of assigned projects—budget, forecast, cost-to-complete, and margin.
- Build and defend cost-to-complete forecasts and apply earned value / cost-variance methodology to track project performance and recovery.
- Track actuals against budget, explain variances, and drive corrective action with project teams.
- Manage project cash flow, billing milestones, retention, and working capital.
- Apply revenue recognition (ASC 606 / IFRS 15) for long-term and construction-type contracts.
Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable
- Own project accounts receivable—invoicing and billing milestones, retention, collections, and aging—to protect cash flow and minimize overdue balances.
- Manage project accounts payable—subcontractor and vendor invoices, approvals, and payment terms—ensuring costs are accurately captured and cash is optimized.
- Reconcile AR and AP to project cost and revenue, and monitor net working capital and billing-vs-cost position (over/under billings) on each project.
Commercial & Contract Management
- Own commercial and contract management for assigned projects—review, interpret, and administer contract terms (pricing, payment terms, retention, liquidated damages, warranties, and risk allocation) and safeguard the company’s commercial position throughout execution.
- Maintain contract compliance through timely notices, consistent correspondence, and substantiating records that support entitlement.
- Lead the change-order process end to end—identify and quantify scope changes, price and document change orders, secure approvals, and ensure they are reflected in budget, forecast, and billing—so margin and entitlements are protected.
- Manage claims and dispute economics, working with legal counsel to defend and pursue entitlements.
- Interface with customers, vendors, and joint venture partners on all commercial and contractual matters.
Procurement & Buyout
- Partner with Procurement on project sourcing, subcontractor and supplier selection, purchase commitments, and cost-down opportunities.
- Support project buyout—analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals, support issuance of contracts, and track buyout savings against the project budget.
- Manage subcontractor accounts—review valuations, address contract performance issues, and ensure payments match claimed value, contract rules, and agreed valuation methods.
- Support supplier and subcontractor negotiations, ensuring commercial and payment terms align with project cash flow and risk objectives.
Risk Management
- Maintain a live project risk register—identify commercial and financial risks early, quantify exposure, and drive mitigation and contingency treatments.
- Monitor contingency drawdown and evaluate the margin and cash impact of change orders, claims, and emerging risks.
- Provide early warning to leadership on projects trending off budget, margin, or cash targets.
Business Partnership & Reporting
- Act as a true business partner to project managers and other project stakeholders—including customers, suppliers, subcontractors, legal counsel, and internal leadership—providing the financial insight that drives project decisions.
- Prepare project reviews, dashboards, and executive, investor, and lender reporting on portfolio performance.
- Support bid and proposal pricing, sensitivity analysis, and go/no-go decisions.
Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Support the NetSuite and project-accounting implementation and reporting build-out.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, accuracy, and accountability.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or CPA a plus.
- 8+ years in project finance, commercial or project management, or FP&A—ideally construction, infrastructure, data centers, or energy; a senior individual contributor.
- Working knowledge of US construction and EPC contract structures (e.g., AIA, ConsensusDocs, EPC/design-build), percentage-of-completion accounting, and change-order and claims processes.
- Understanding of project accounting principles—earned value, cost variance, and cash flow.
- Strong financial modeling skills; experience with ERP and project-accounting systems; familiarity with the NetSuite ecosystem is desirable.
Specific Skills / Abilities
- Strong contract management and negotiation instincts, with a solid grasp of change-order, claims, and risk-management processes; comfortable with legal and commercial counterparties.
- Proven ability to partner with and influence project managers, senior stakeholders, and a broad set of external parties—customers, suppliers, subcontractors—to drive outcomes without direct authority.
- Solid procurement, buyout, and cost-management understanding in a project environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail.
- Self-motivated, strategic, collaborative, and highly organized.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
