Finance Controller (CA)

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance, accounting, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and business-control functions for a growing NBFC engaged in gold jewelry lending. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in NBFC finance, RBI reporting, Ind AS, financial controls, treasury, audit, taxation, and MIS, with a strong understanding of gold-loan operations and collateral-based lending.

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

Financial Controllership:

• Own the complete accounting and financial-control function.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close.
• Ensure accurate P& L, balance sheet, cash flow, and financial reporting.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Develop strong financial controls across branches and corporate functions.
• Monitor profitability, cost structures, NIM, ROA, ROE, and business KPIs.

NBFC and RBI Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with applicable RBI/NBFC regulatory requirements.
• Manage RBI returns, regulatory reporting, and financial disclosures.
• Ensure appropriate provisioning, asset classification, and ECL/Ind AS requirements.
• Work closely with statutory, internal, and regulatory auditors.
• Maintain strong control frameworks and audit readiness.

Gold Loan Finance and Controls:

• Financial oversight of the gold loan portfolio.
• Monitor gold-loan disbursement, collections, interest income, overdue accounts, and NPAs.
• Ensure appropriate accounting and controls around pledged gold.
• Monitor LTV, gold valuation, purity, weight, and collateral reconciliation.
• Establish controls around gold custody, branch-level reconciliation, and insurance.
• Review gold auction accounting, recovery, surplus/shortfall, and related reporting.
• RBI's gold-lending framework specifically addresses collateral valuation, LTV, assaying, ownership verification, storage/security, and auction processes.

Treasury and Fund Management:

• Manage daily cash-flow planning and liquidity.
• Monitor borrowing, bank facilities, and lender relationships.
• Support debt raising, refinancing, and working-capital requirements.
• Track interest costs and optimize the funding mix.

Audit, Tax, and Governance:

• Lead statutory audit, internal audit, and tax audit coordination.
• Manage GST, TDS, income tax, and other applicable compliances.
• Coordinate with auditors, consultants, regulators, and external advisors.
• Strengthen SOPs, financial policies, and internal-control mechanisms.

MIS and Business Analytics:

• Build management dashboards for AUM, Disbursement, Collections, NPA/GNPA/NNPA, Yield, Cost of Funds, NIM, Branch Profitability, Gold Inventory/Collateral Reconciliation, and Operating Expenses.
• Provide actionable financial insights to the CEO/CFO/Board.

Requirements:

• CA mandatory.
• 10-15+ years of post-qualification experience.
• Strong experience in NBFC / Banking / Gold Finance / Financial Services.
• Prior experience in a Gold Loan NBFC is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Ind AS, RBI regulations, NBFC reporting, taxation, and financial controls.
• Experience managing finance teams and external auditors.
• Strong understanding of AUM, NPA, provisioning, treasury, ALM, and profitability metrics.
• Experience working directly with the CFO/CEO/Board will be an advantage.
