Finance Controller (CPA Required)

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead our accounting operations and serve as a key strategic partner to our Chief Financial Officer. What You'll Do

As our Financial Controller, you will:

• Lead and develop the Accounting Department
• Oversee all accounting operations, including:
  • General Ledger
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Payroll
  • Cash Management
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Month-end and year-end close
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports
• Partner with department leaders to monitor budgets and recommend cost-control strategies
• Manage the organization's annual audit process
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax reporting requirements
• Maintain strong internal controls and sound accounting practices
• Oversee the organization's ERP system and accounting processes
• Review insurance coverage and help mitigate organizational risk
• Support financial oversight of federal contracts and grants
• Perform and oversee 401(k) audit activities and Form 5500 filing
• Identify financial trends and provide recommendations to the CFO
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Current CPA license (Required)
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, auditing, and internal controls
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or similar ERP systems
• Experience in nonprofit accounting, government contracts, grants, or multi-location organizations
• Experience leading process improvement and system implementations
