Finance Director - Sportsbook Igaming

Workster is partnering with a fast-growing international technology company within the sports betting and iGaming industry to recruit a Finance Director for their team.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced finance professional with strong sportsbook or iGaming expertise. You will lead financial strategy, planning, reporting, controls, and commercial decision-making across a high-growth, international business where financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational performance are essential.

Your Role

• Lead the finance function and provide strategic financial direction to the sportsbook and iGaming business

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s growth and commercial objectives

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and long-term business planning

• Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, financial reports, and performance analysis

• Monitor revenue, gross gaming revenue, net gaming revenue, costs, margins, cash flow, and profitability

• Provide financial insight and recommendations to the executive leadership team and other key stakeholders

• Lead financial modelling and scenario analysis for new products, markets, partnerships, and commercial initiatives

• Oversee finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, and cash management

• Establish and maintain robust financial controls, processes, policies, and reporting standards

• Ensure accurate reconciliation of player funds, payment flows, sportsbook settlements, and third-party transactions

• Manage relationships with auditors, banks, payment providers, tax advisers, regulators, and other external partners

• Ensure compliance with applicable financial, tax, regulatory, licensing, and responsible gambling requirements

• Oversee statutory accounts, tax filings, audits, and financial reporting across relevant jurisdictions

• Identify financial risks and implement effective mitigation and governance measures

• Lead, develop, and support the finance team while promoting high standards of accuracy and accountability

• Improve finance systems, reporting tools, automation, and data-driven decision-making

• Collaborate closely with Commercial, Operations, Product, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Payments, and Technology teams

Your Qualifications

• Extensive senior finance leadership experience in sportsbook, iGaming, online gaming, betting, gambling, or another highly regulated digital business

• Strong track record in financial strategy, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial finance

• Professional accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent is highly advantageous

• Strong understanding of sportsbook and iGaming financial metrics, including GGR, NGR, player liabilities, bonuses, payouts, margins, and customer acquisition costs

• Experience managing financial reporting across multiple legal entities and international jurisdictions

• Good knowledge of gaming regulation, licensing requirements, tax, AML, KYC, and financial controls

• Experience overseeing audits, statutory reporting, tax compliance, and relationships with external advisers

• Strong understanding of payment processing, payment service providers, cash management, and transaction reconciliation

• Experience with finance systems, ERP platforms, business intelligence tools, and advanced Excel or similar analytical software

• Excellent financial modelling, analytical, and commercial decision-making skills

• Ability to translate complex financial information into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders

• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills

• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and professional judgement

• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced international environment

• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken
