WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES) …
The Finance Grants Manager at Newport Mental Health ensures accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial stewardship across multiple funding streams, including federal SAMHSA grants, state contracts, Medicaid reimbursements, and private grants. This position is a hands-on position requiring a deep understanding of financial principles, compliance regulations, and a commitment to the mission of the center.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and bill all federal, state, and private grants.
- Ensure allowable cost compliance, time & effort documentation, and procurement standards under Uniform Guidance.
- Monitor grant burn rates and proactively advises on spending adjustments.
- Collaborate with program managers to ensure accurate tracking of funds and adherence to grant requirements.
- Work with the billing department on monthly Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial billing to ensure accuracy and compliance with CCBHC billing models.
- Prepares finance CCBHC cost reporting.
- Serve as the primary contact for annual audits, including Single Audit.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal and state regulations, and CCBHC certification standards.
- Stay informed about changes in financial regulations and industry’s best practices.
- Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts in collaboration with VP of Finance and executive leadership.
- Provide support for staff on financial systems and processes.
- Mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Encourage professional development and continuous improvement among team members.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial information is accurate and support organizational goals.
- Communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
