This role is designed for an experienced business and financial leader who can take ownership of the overall health of the Scottsdale market while remaining connected to meaningful client work. The right person may come from public accounting, private industry, CAS, outsourced CFO/controller services, audit, tax, or another financial leadership environment. A career built exclusively in tax is not required. We are looking for the strongest leader for the market.

What You'll Own

• Lead, develop, and hold the local team accountable for performance, growth, and client service.
• Own market financial performance, including revenue, profitability, budgets, forecasting, and overall business results.
• Build relationships with business owners, executives, clients, referral partners, and the local community.
• Drive client retention, relationship expansion, business development, and market growth.
• Identify opportunities to connect clients with expertise across Haga Kommer’s broader organization.
• Improve workflows, processes, accountability, and operational effectiveness.
• Address performance issues and make thoughtful business and people decisions when needed.
• Collaborate across offices and service lines to bring the right resources to clients and team members.
• Remain a producing leader. Production may include CAS, outsourced controller/CFO services, advisory, tax, assurance, or another aligned area.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of progressive business, finance, accounting, or professional-services experience, including meaningful leadership responsibility.
• Proven success leading, coaching, and developing teams while creating accountability.
• Strong financial and business acumen, including experience with P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, profitability, revenue, and financial performance.
• Strong understanding of how an accounting and finance function operates, including areas such as financial reporting, general ledger, close, AP/AR, cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Ability to translate financial information into practical business decisions and client recommendations.
• Experience building and expanding client, executive, or business-owner relationships.
• Demonstrated business-development mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities.
• Strong operational judgment and a track record of improving processes, systems, and performance.
• Confidence navigating difficult conversations, performance management, and change.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with genuine ownership mentality.
