Role & Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end financial management, budget oversight, forecasting, commitment tracking, and reporting to ensure robust project governance.
  
• Manage and maintain accurate project financial records, tracking expenditure, commitments, purchase orders, and contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
  
• Monitor financial performance against approved budgets and funding allocations to support Commonwealth affordability management.
  
• Partner with Cost Modellers to identify emerging financial pressures or opportunities and provide strategic recommendations.
  
• Brief and influence senior executives, delivering clear financial advice to support key project delivery outcomes.
  

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:

• Technical Toolkit: Advanced Excel skills (modelling, pivot tables, and scenario analysis) with the capability to integrate cost estimation, work breakdown structures, and procurement profiles into financial activities.
  
• Experience: Proven track record in Federal Government financial management, ideally within complex ICT acquisition or sustainment project environments.
  
• Core Capabilities: Excellent communication skills with the ability to brief senior executive stakeholders, navigate dynamic high-tempo environments, and contribute proactively to high-performing teams.
  

Eligibility & Clearance Requirements

• Security Clearance: Due to the nature of this environment, candidates must hold a current NV1 (Negative Vetting 1) security clearance.
