Finance Manager

Discussion

Who We Are

emater is a fast-growing, performance-driven e-commerce company — the parent company behind four DTC brands creating global impact. Based in Miami, with offices in Armenia and Israel and a team spanning the globe, we handle everything in-house from A to Z: operations, marketing, product development, and customer experience.

At emater, we believe that great results come from unity, responsibility, and contribution.

We build together, take responsibility for what we’ve been given, and create real value — for ourselves and for others.

Our work doesn’t stop with us.

What we build reaches beyond our company — to our customers, our partners, and people around the world.

We’re looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to lead finance across our four DTC brands.

You’ll own the close, forecasting, payments, reporting and financial controls. You’ll also improve the systems behind the work, using AI and automation to reduce manual tasks, strengthen reporting and support better decisions.

This is a practical role in a growing business. You’ll report directly to the CEO and be expected to explain clearly what the numbers mean and what the business should do about them.

What You’ll Own

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Own the annual budget, rolling forecasts and group financial model.
  • Translate brand, marketing and operations plans into clear financial targets.
  • Analyse performance across revenue, gross margin, marketing spend and cash.
  • Explain what changed, why it changed and what action should be taken.

E-commerce & Unit Economics

  • Track contribution margin, CAC, LTV, payback, AOV, repeat rates and returns.
  • Understand profitability by brand, channel, product and SKU.
  • Identify where margin is being lost across COGS, fulfilment, shipping, fees, discounts and refunds.
  • Support inventory and purchasing decisions with cash and margin analysis.

Close, Consolidation & Reporting

  • Run the weekly, monthly and annual close across all entities.
  • Produce accurate brand-level and consolidated financial statements.
  • Manage intercompany accounting, shared-cost allocations and multi-currency consolidation.
  • Prepare management reporting, dashboards and shareholder materials.

Cash, Payments & Working Capital

  • Own cash forecasting, vendor payments and approval workflows.
  • Manage banking relationships and payment processor reconciliations.
  • Monitor liquidity and flag funding needs early.
  • Improve working capital through better payment terms, collections and inventory planning.

Systems, AI & Automation

  • Improve the finance stack by connecting commerce, accounting and BI systems.
  • Identify and implement practical uses of AI across the finance function.
  • Use AI and automation to improve reconciliations, forecasting, reporting and anomaly detection.
  • Reduce manual spreadsheet work while maintaining strong review and approval controls.
  • Help the wider team adopt new tools safely and effectively.

Controls & Compliance

  • Put clear, proportionate financial controls and policies in place.
  • Coordinate accountants and advisers across tax, VAT or sales tax, statutory reporting and audit.
  • Take ownership of deadlines and ensure external advisers receive accurate information on time.
  • Maintain sound controls around confidential and commercially sensitive information.

Team Management

  • Manage and develop the Finance Specialist.
  • Help define and hire the finance team as the portfolio grows.
  • Work effectively with colleagues across different countries, cultures and time zones.

Exit Readiness & Corporate Development

  • Lead the finance workstream for a future transaction, working directly with the CEO.
  • Prepare the business for financial due diligence and quality-of-earnings reviews.
  • Ensure reporting, controls and supporting documentation are transaction-ready.

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience

  • At least 6 years of finance experience, preferably in e-commerce, DTC, retail or consumer goods.
  • Experience owning the full close and reporting process across multiple entities.
  • Strong financial modelling skills, including building driver-based models from scratch.
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite or similar systems.
  • A solid understanding of DTC unit economics and product-level profitability.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Power BI or Tableau.
  • Practical AI and automation expertise, with strong judgment on impact, accuracy, security, and oversight.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Preferred Experience

  • A professional qualification; CFA is preferred.
  • International group structures, cross-border transactions or indirect tax.
  • Finance automation and systems integration.
  • Sell-side transactions, due diligence or quality-of-earnings reviews.

What It Means to Work at emater

Working at emater is not for everyone.

It means:

  • Taking ownership, not waiting for instructions
  • Being accountable for results, not just effort
  • Being willing to grow, learn, and improve constantly

It also means:

  • You are trusted
  • You are supported
  • You are part of something bigger than yourself

What We Offer

  • Paid days off, medical insurance, 13th salary, wellness benefits, and referral bonuses.
  • A collaborative, supportive environment where your ideas and professional growth are highly valued.
