Finance Manager

Reporting directly to the managing director, you'll take responsibility for ensuring processes run efficiently across purchasing, stock, compliance, finance and administration.

Description

• Take ownership of key business processes from purchasing and supplier management through to invoicing and cash collection.
• Produce monthly management accounts, including P&L and balance sheet reporting.
• Manage operational workflows and ensure activities are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Lead and support a small established team, setting priorities and maintaining high standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, AI tools and system enhancements.
• Oversee supplier payments, stock-related processes and operational controls.
• Provide hands-on support across transactional finance when required.
• Manage compliance requirements across the business, including regulatory and reporting obligations.
• Act as the main point of contact for external accountants, HMRC and other third parties.

Profile

• Ideally CIMA qualified, although ACCA, AAT or strong qualified-by-experience candidates will be considered.
• Understanding of management accounts, profit & loss reporting and balance sheets.
• Previous experience working within an SME environment.
• Naturally organised with a process-driven mindset.
• Comfortable taking ownership across both finance and operations.
• Proven leadership and people management skills.
• Enthusiastic about technology, AI and business improvement.

Job Offer

• Permanent Finance Manager position based in Cheshire.
• Salary of £50,000 to £60,000, dependent on the level of experience.
