Finance Manager

A globally recognized genetic research services company is seeking a Finance Manager to join its Japan operations. This role will play a key part in supporting senior leadership and contributing to business-critical financial reporting and strategic planning efforts. As Finance Manager, you will oversee financial reporting, planning, and accounting operations in compliance with JGAAP. This position requires flexibility, initiative, and hands-on experience to navigate a dynamic business environment and support both strategic and routine financial functions.

• Prepare monthly highlights and management reporting materials (e.g., slides, summaries)
  

• Assist with budget creation, P&L forecasting, and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) development
  

• Conduct KPI trend analysis (%B, %G, %FCT) across revenue, COGS, expenses, and CAPEX
  

Accounting Operations

• Maintain and manage accounting procedures in compliance with JGAAP
  

• Oversee monthly/annual closing, daily approvals, and reporting tasks
  

• Coordinate tax filings and external reporting
  

• Handle select routine tasks such as inventory valuation and reserve calculations
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  
• 5+ years’ experience in financial reporting, ideally in a manufacturing or scientific environment
  
• Strong knowledge of JGAAP and financial planning processes
  
• Native-level Japanese and business-level English
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; familiarity with ERP systems, Power BI, and OLAP tools is a plus
  
• Hands-on, collaborative leadership style with strong communication and analytical skills
  
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask under pressure, and work independently in a fast-paced setting
