Finance Manager
Job Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting operations within a property development group. The role focuses on ensuring accurate financial reporting, project-level cost control, and supporting management in decision-making through budgeting, forecasting, and project performance analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full set of accounts and ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities
- Prepare management accounts, financial reports, and detailed variance analysis for ongoing projects
- Monitor project costing, work-in-progress (WIP), and development expenditure tracking across multiple projects
- Support revenue recognition for development projects using Percentage of Completion (POC) / MFRS 15 standards
- Drive annual budgeting and periodic forecasting for project and group-level performance
- Manage cash flow planning, liquidity position, and banking facilities utilization
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and financial institutions
- Lead, supervise, and develop the finance team to ensure operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (MFRS), internal controls, and group reporting requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance or professional qualification (ACCA / CPA / CIMA or equivalent)
- 5–8 years of relevant finance experience, preferably within property development, construction, real estate, or infrastructure industries
- Strong understanding of MFRS reporting standards, particularly MFRS 15 revenue recognition
- Hands-on experience in project accounting, WIP monitoring, and Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting
- Strong analytical capability with solid business partnering exposure
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP or similar) will be an added advantage
- Proven leadership experience in managing a small to mid-size finance team
