About the Role

Talora Agency is recruiting a Finance Manager for an independent power plant. The successful candidate will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, taxation, compliance, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle, reconciliations, journal entries, and period-end closing.
• Prepare management accounts, financial reports, and statutory financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, company policies, and internal controls.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis.
• Manage banking activities, petty cash, and bank reconciliations.
• Supervise accounts payable and receivable reconciliations.
• Coordinate external audits, tax audits, and regulatory reviews.
• Monitor inventory records, stock counts, and financial controls.
• Provide financial analysis and performance reports to plant management.
• Maintain the integrity of ERP financial modules, Maximo, and reporting systems.
• Supervise and develop the Plant Accounts Coordinator.
• Support finance, tax, treasury, and accounting activities across Nigerian operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Postgraduate qualification in Finance or Accounting is an advantage.
• Membership of ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or another recognised professional accounting body.
• 8–10 years of experience in project and management accounting.
• Experience in power generation, energy, or a large industrial plant environment; power-plant experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian accounting standards, taxation, treasury, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with accounting software and corporate reporting systems.
