Finance Operations Analyst, Japan & India Portfolio (AR, Credit & Collections)

This is a 12-month, hybrid contract based in Singapore.

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Operations Analyst to support Accounts Receivable, collections and credit management activities across APAC, with a particular focus on customers operating in Japan and India.

The role works closely with customers, Sales, Finance, Credit, Cash Application and external collection partners to manage receivables, resolve disputes, assess credit risk and support timely cash collection.

The successful candidate will also contribute to process improvement and the effective use of digital and automation tools within finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable & Collections

  • Manage assigned customer accounts and cases, with a focus on monthly invoicing customers across APAC.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables, payment status and remittance information, and follow up on overdue balances.
  • Review and coordinate resolution of billing and payment disputes with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Respond to customer finance-related enquiries and ensure timely resolution in accordance with established processes and service standards.
  • Review cash application activities and ensure payments are accurately allocated based on customer instructions.
  • Validate and process credit rebills, credit memos and dispute requests.
  • Download invoices and prepare Statements of Account and other receivables information for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Follow established collection procedures, controls and processing schedules.
  • Work closely with external collection partners to support collection targets and ensure effective account follow-up.
  • Monitor the accuracy and timeliness of cash application activities performed by external partners.
  • Maintain accurate account records and documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Credit Management

  • Review and assess new credit applications for monthly invoicing customers.
  • Analyse customer creditworthiness and financial information to support credit limit recommendations and approvals.
  • Identify potential credit risks and escalate cases in accordance with established credit policies and approval authorities.
  • Ensure credit decisions and account management activities comply with applicable policies, procedures and internal controls.

Stakeholder Management & Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Credit, Cash Application and other internal teams to resolve customer and account issues.
  • Work with regional and offshore finance operations teams to ensure seamless coordination and timely resolution of collection matters.
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance workflows, reduce manual activities and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support the use of digital, automation and AI-enabled tools to improve reporting, analysis and finance operations.
  • Perform additional finance operations activities as required by established procedures and business needs.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in Accounts Receivable, credit control, collections or related finance operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing customer accounts, collections, credit assessment and/or dispute resolution.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to review financial information and assess customer credit risk.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other productivity or finance-related tools.
  • Comfortable working with digital, automation and AI-enabled tools to improve productivity and operational processes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across regional and cross-functional teams.
  • Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English is required because the role involves direct communication with Japan-based customers and stakeholders and requires the handling and resolution of finance-related matters in Japanese.
  • University degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting customers or stakeholders in the Japan market.
  • Experience working in a regional shared services, finance operations or multinational environment.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle or other ERP / Accounts Receivable systems.
  • Experience with process automation, workflow redesign, data analysis or continuous improvement.
  • Experience using AI-enabled productivity tools such as Gemini or similar applications.
  • Experience with credit assessment, financial statement analysis and credit risk management.
