Finance Operations Manager | Financial Services | Up to $10,000
The Finance Operations Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day finance operations function, maintaining effective transaction controls and ensuring accurate, timely processing and reconciliation.
The position partners with internal stakeholders, auditors and project teams to strengthen workflows, support business initiatives and improve operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop the Finance Operations team, providing clear direction, coaching and day-to-day support.
- Oversee incoming and outgoing funds, ensuring payment and receipt activities are completed accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Review reconciliations relating to clients, brokers, trade debtors and other finance operations accounts, and ensure outstanding items are followed through to resolution.
- Maintain oversight of investment-security tagging, last-traded-price updates and the preparation of relevant investment reports.
- Validate daily accounting entries before they are posted to the financial system and ensure supporting records are complete.
- Review payment, receipt, miscellaneous and trade-debtor transactions, including applicable anti-money laundering checks and escalation of exceptions.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors, respond to audit requests and support the timely closure of findings.
- Identify control or work flow gaps and lead improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency and service delivery.
- Contribute finance operations expertise to transformation programmes, system enhancements and the introduction of new products.
- Work closely with business and support functions to deliver operational priorities in a fast-moving environment.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- At least 8 to 10 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, with a sound understanding of finance operations processes.
- Demonstrated experience supervising or leading a finance team.
- Prior involvement in finance automation, digitalisation or process-transformation initiatives.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to collaborate across different functions and deliver within tight timelines.
- End-to-end finance operations experience within securities broking or a closely related financial-services environment is advantageous.
- Meticulous, adaptable and proactive, with a positive approach to learning and continuous improvement.
